Here at Ordo Ineptus we've just started our first Planetary Empires campaign: The Battle for Thanatos!

Beastmen: A load of Bull, with a side of Goat!

There’s been a bit of discussion amongst my Ordo Ineptus brethren about Beastmen. When the Army Book came out (was it really 2 years ago?!) we all felt more than a little let down. I personally was just finishing an all Khorne Minotaur army using the old book, and was very disappointed that something like that could not be done again. Now this was in 7^th edition, and there’s some communal experience with 8^th edition now, so the question we had was, do Beastmen still suck?



He doesn't suck, but he does have a pot-belly!



Battle Report: 1750 Orks versus Dark Eldar!

I got a “pick-up game” the other night. I started very late, and was far too tired for serious play, but though I often get the crap beaten out of me when playing too tired to think, I believe it helps my brain learn what to do without me having to think about it…I tell myself that means I’ll play better when I really can think about it, but maybe it just makes things worse.

Either way, I got a fun game in with an unexpected result…..WAAAAAGH!

I have MEQ envy...

I admit it. Sometimes (hell, most times) I’m across the table from someone that has the benefit of getting saves on what seems like everything I throw at them. I do 20 wounds? He saves 19. Screw you man!

Well, I’ve decided…I’m going to shelve my long-unfulfilled plans for a Space Wolf army, but I’m going to satisfy my desire to have a stat-line full of 4s and an armour save. What army did I choose?

Ordo Ineptus Warhammer 40k Tournament - Xenos Represent!

This weekend was the first of what I hope to be monthly "small" tournaments at the FLGS where Ordo Ineptus meets. We'll be cycling through different game systems, this one was Warhammer 40k!

Battle Report! 2000pts Blood Angels vs. Space Wolves!

Yes, Blood Angels! I sometimes get 3+ envy, and want to try new things, and was inspired by something I heard on an 11th company podcast.

My good friend Sean Nayden used to play a very Dreadnought and Drop Pod heavy Vulkan based army, with a fair amount of success. Neil said something about making an all Drop Pod Blood Angels army...those ASM get Pods for free, ya know!...and I put two and two together...

My local club is called Ordo Ineptus, named for our surefire ability to roll 1s when it hurts the most. Club events have been kind of minimal the last few months, but all that's about to change!

Fantasy Battle Report: Vampires versus Ogre Kingdoms!

For the first time in almost a year and a half I played Warhammer Fantasy! I used the Vampire Counts army I detailed here, and met with mixed success. I was quite pleased with how the army worked...it's one I'll definitely tweak a bit and continue using...maybe even break my tradition and completely paint it!

Dealing with Grey Knights

I hate to be bitter and jaded...but I am. I'm already sick and tired of reading about Necrons: Stormlord, Entropy, Night Fight, Tesla...shut up already!

Battle Report: Dark Eldar versus Blood Angels!

I was lucky enough this past weekend to get two games in versus my friend and Ordo Ineptus clubmate Tim. Our first game was 2000 points 40k, with his Blood Angels facing off against my Dark Eldar. Our second was Hordes, with his Trollbloods going against my Skorne.

I admit it: I've been neglecting my Planetary Empires painting duties; my terrain-building duties; and my Skorne painting duties. I have no excuse, other than I've been actually playing a lot of games!

I was lucky enough to have a very nice game against a very nice man that went by the online name Brother Captain Herald, using a very exciting Imperial Fist army!
