DAK: My painting is getting started

I'm finally getting half-way serious about painting my Afrikakorps, though I'm struggling with the much smaller scale. Here's a few pics of what I've got going on.

This is a Heavy Armoured Car (Sd. Kfz 223 8rad). He's done in the camo pattern my whole army has: Sepia wash on white! :) I did a white primer, a heavy wash using GW Sepia, and voila!

Desert Camo! It's not quite the color the Germans used in North Africa, but it's close.

It's pretty far off from the infantry uniform colors (would you believe they were actually light green?), but it works for me.

Sadly my lighting isn't the best, so too many shadows.

Our campaign is taking place in Tunisia, so I looked for photos to inspire me, and didn't have to look too much farther than the Battlefront sight itself, which has a great article on desert basing: http://www.flamesofwar.com/Default.aspx?tabid=53&art_id=1744

I was aiming for more of a 'dirty' desert than 'sandy' desert, with a fair amount of scrub-like undergrowth.

I've made up some terrain for us to use, as well...photos of that coming soon!
